Advocacy Connections

The IHA Institute for Innovations in Care and Quality is committed to bolstering quality improvement efforts across our statewide membership and informing members and government officials about the strong connection between advocacy, patient safety, and high-quality patient outcomes.

Advocacy Connections is resource to inform members about legislation that will impact healthcare providers, hospitals, and the patient's they serve. Institute staff track and analyze key proposals in the Illinois General Assembly and provide summaries of key bills to keep you informed.

2017 Quality Advocacy Showcase

IHA's 2nd annual Quality Advocacy Showcase on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, brings together leaders from more than 80 Illinois hospitals or health systems for face-to-face conversations with legislators about the important quality improvement work of Illinois' hospital community. For the event, IHA has produced one professionally designed 30-by-42-inch poster per facility. Join your team in Springfield to showcase your quality improvement efforts and meet with your district legislators.

The event, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Capitol Rotunda, offers members the opportunity to engage legislators in discussions about the key quality issues addressed in the Illinois General Assembly while highlighting members' performance achievements. A member pre-event briefing with IHA's government relations staff will be at 10 a.m. on the day of the showcase at IHA's Springfield office. We encourage members to take their posters after the showcase and share it with others.

The posters are grouped into the following categories:

  • Care Coordination
  • Infection Prevention
  • Integrated Behavioral Health
  • Patient Safety
  • Population Health
