Hospitals and health systems serve persons with mental health and substance use disorders through specialized facilities and programs as well as in acute, general care settings. To support their commitment to improving the behavioral health of their patients and communities, we provide advocacy, education and technical assistance in a variety of relevant areas, such as:
- Organization, financing and regulation of mental health and substance use disorder services;
- Legislation relevant to provider issues and patients; and
- Policy development on quality of care, the delivery system and access to care.
