Small & Rural Hospitals
IHA's Small & Rural Hospitals Constituency Section represents 87 hospitals throughout Illinois, providing essential health care services to over 20,000 patients a day and creating an economic impact of over $2.5 billion annually. Illinois small and rural hospitals serve a growing aging population with over 35 percent of revenues from Medicare. IHA continues to advocate for state and federal policies that support the work of our small and rural hospitals as the safety net for our rural communities, addressing the lack of health care professionals in rural communities, and identifying regulatory barriers.
