Pandemic Influenza Workgroup

As was discussed at the April 4th meeting, attached is a spreadsheet (click here) with workgroup member names, organization affiliation and e-mail addresses (if available).

Also during the April 4 meeting, the following tasks were delegated:

1. Develop a definition for First Responder (see attached e-mail to use as a basis) - Greg Chance
2. Identify those who need medication - J Bogdan
3. Issues associated with PPE (relax fit testing requirements, acquiring N95 masks, etc.) - J Bogdan
4. Consider priority of pre exposure and post exposure medication - Craig Conover
5. Develop hospital approach to treatment and prophylaxis of hospital staff and visitors - Pat Finnegan

If you have any suggestions or information regarding any of the above tasks, we encourage you to contact the point person, and on the flip-side, you may be contacted by a point person to provide expertise and assistance in completing the tasks. We will be dialoging each of these tasks and the progress made at the April 19 meeting.

Below is a listing of Illinois Terrorism Task Force Committees. Please keep in mind that as we move forward with our work and as issues arise, we can ask any of these committees that have the expertise that we need, to assist us with completing tasks.

The next meeting of the Bioterrorism Committee's Pandemic Influenza Workgroup will be held on April 19 from 10:00am - noon. We will video conference between the Ridgley Building (check in on the 8th floor) located at 500 East Monroe, Springfield and MCHC located at 222 South Riverside Plaza, Suite 1900, Chicago.
