Officials from Provena Health, Mokena, have filed a request for a judicial review of the Illinois Department of Revenue’s (DOR) decision denying a local property tax exemption to Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana. The request, filed in the Circuit Court in Sangamon County, contends there were numerous errors in the decision, which overturned the recommendations of a DOR administrative law judge in favor of Provena.

IHA, which previously filed an amicus brief in support of Provena Covenant’s appeal at DOR, will continue to support Provena as it seeks to regain its tax-exempt status.
