Leapfrog Hospital Rewards Program
Leapfrog has initiated several new initiatives recently; one of which is
the Leapfrog Hospital Insights reporting for the Hospital under the Leapfrog
Hospital Rewards Program. This new initiative combines the performance results
of the Hospital Quality Alliance (HQA) data with the administrative claims data
to allow for understanding of a hospital's quality, efficiency, and overall
performance. To participate in this program, hospitals will need to submit the
necessary information and pay the Leapfrog hospital participant charges. At the
request of some IHA member hospitals, IHA is a data vendor for Leapfrog for
participating hospitals. Hospitals must sign an agreement with IHA to
participate in this program along with paying the Leapfrog hospital
participation fees. Hospitals are also required to send to their vendor the
necessary re-admission rates for the select HQA measurements. Please note that
while IHA has concerns and reservations about the methodology and construct of
Leapfrog's efficiency measurements, we recognize that hospitals wish to
participate in this Leapfrog initiative and IHA stands ready to assist. To find
