Webinar Held
On December 4, IHA hosted a Webinar, "Treatment of Sexual Assault Survivors -- New Requirements and Procedures." The discussion included:

• Recent changes to the Sexual Assault Survivors Emergency Treatment Act
• Information about submitting revised treatment or transfer plans to IDPH
• Best practices for ensuring the survivor does not receive a bill for services
• Instructions by Department of Healthcare and Family Services staff for generating in the emergency department a new payment voucher that the survivor may take to providers of follow-up care. Treatment hospital emergency departments were instructed about how to take the necessary steps now in order to be capable of generating the new voucher on the effective date of the new provisions, January 1, 2008.
