February 11, 2008 HFS Medicaid Eligibility MessageThe Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services posted information on its web site on Feb. 7 regarding Medicaid recipient eligibility that has caused some confusion in the provider community. The information refers to a message you would receive when verifying recipient eligibility. The message would include a reference to "A HFS Social Services" and "B HFS Social Services." Please note that nothing has changed regarding eligibility for Medicaid services. The HFS message that you see when checking eligibility has changed, but the rules for eligibility have not.
