Illinois Risk Management Services (IRMS) serves as the manager of Illinois
Provider Trust (IPT), and as such provides claims and
risk management services to the members of IPT. IPT is a first-dollar Hospital
Professional/General Liability program that
currently serves over 40 health care organizations in
Illinois. IPT maintains an effective link between claims and
risk management functions with an early intervention claims
philosophy and a risk management program focused on identification of liability
exposures and increased quality of care.
Medical
Alliance Insurance Company (MAIC) provides professional
liability insurance to closely aligned physicians on staff at
members of the Illinois Provider
Trust (IPT). The program takes advantage of the cooperative
effort between hospitals and physicians with early claims
intervention that serves to reduce legal costs, prevent
plaintiff attorney creation of conflict between defendants,
and potentially reduce premiums.
